Charlotte Harbor Nature Festival 2016 for Charlotte County
The Charlotte Harbor Nature Festival is an annual regional family-friendly celebration where people can learn about the natural environment of southwest Florida from local experts through a wide variety of activities for adults and children. We hope you will join us at our 17th annual festival, making it bigger and better than ever to enrich the lives of our citizens. Visitors: Admission and parking are both free. There is no rain date. There is no need to register to attend the festival unless you would like to receive updates. To receive updates, please register using the EventBrite form for visitors (http://chnf2016updates.eventbrite.com). Visit www.CHNEP.org/CHNF.html to learn more. Volunteers and Activities: If you'd like to help or provide an activity (guided walk, etc.), please send an email to maran@chnep.org explaining how you would like to be involved and the hours you can work on behalf of the festival. Please don't volunteer with Maran if you are volunteering to help an exhibitor. Sponsors and Exhibitors: This form allows you to register as a sponsor and exhibitor. For us, exhibitor includes all who wish to share their information about the natural environment with the public. Please think of this registration page as an order form and "order" all relevant items with one registration (sponsor, exhibitor space). Please coordinate your order with others associated with your organization so only one order is placed. If you have shared your exhibit space with others in the past, please encourage them to register so they can be acknowledged in promotional material. Sponsors: Festival expenses of nearly ,000 are covered by generous sponsors and proceeds from an on-site raffle. We're happy to accept sponsorships of all amounts. Your support will be acknowledged in promotional material created after the donation is received. To be listed on the tote bag given to visitors (while supplies last) you must donate ,500 or more by Aug. 1. If you would like to sponsor the festival with an in-kind donation (media, reduce rentals, etc.), please send an email to maran@chnep.org explaining the service you can provide as well as its value. The Friends of Charlotte Harbor Estuary, Inc. (www.CHNEPfriends.org) is the fiscal agent for the festival. Exhibitors: An exhibitor can be any type of organization, as long as it relates to the natural environment of southwest Florida. There is no fee to participate, but we ask that you donate item(s) valued at or more to the festival raffle for each table ordered. Please bring your raffle items to the entrance tent the day of the festival. (Raffle items are considered a separate and additional donation from sponsorship donations.) The festival provides several large tents to be shared by multiple exhibitors and one 8-foot table for each exhibit space ordered. Except in a few cases, additional space is not available. (These are not traditional 10'x10' booths.) We also ask that you position yourself behind the table to keep the walkway clear for visitors. Bring your own chairs. Please refer to the rough layout of the festival tents and tables. The size of each tent and the number of tables is based on the recent festivals. We will adjust the size of the tents as necessary. When you register as an exhibitor, you can select the table in the tent with your preferred table placement. Only exhibitors at tables on the far "outside" of each tent (rows C and D) are allowed to hang banners from the tent. Others are not allowed to hang banners as they obscure visibility. Electricity and water are not available. If you have an activity for children, please place yourself in the Children's Discovery Zone where more room is provided to each exhibitor. If you are selling items, please place yourself with other authors and artists in the Arts of Nature area. Many exhibitors give away material and sometimes items available for purchase have been taken by mistake. Exhibitors who wish to be placed outside of these large tents are welcome! There is about 60 feet between two "rows" of long tents, making it a perfect place for those who wish to have a stand-alone exhibit. As a stand-alone exhibit, you aren't restricted to a table-size booth; but we expect you will bring all that you require, including tent, tables and chairs. General parking is in front of the entrance tent to encourage people to enter through the "entrance" tent. Exhibitors who arrive before 9:30 a.m. and who stay for the day may park near the tent where their exhibit is located. ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDS: Exhibitors whose information and activities are geared primarily for adults. (Tables are labeled A, B and C.) FLORIDA-FRIENDLY, ARTS OF NATURE and EXHIBITORS WITH WILDLIFE: Exhibitors whose information focuses on Florida-friendly practices, authors and artists, those who have a historical focus and those who have native wildlife that require more space. (Tables are labeled D and E.) CHILDREN'S DISCOVERY ZONE: Exhibitors whose information and activities are geared primarily for children. (Tables are labeled F.) By registering as an exhibitor, the exhibitor agrees to protect and indemnify the sponsors, the planning committee and exhibitors of the Charlotte Harbor Nature Festival, the Friends of Charlotte Harbor Estuary, Inc. as the fiscal agent, as well as the Charlotte County Board of County Commission and Community Services employees or agents for any damages or charges imposed for violations of any law or ordinance, whether occasioned by the negligence of the exhibitor. The exhibitor shall, at all times, protect and indemnify those listed against and from any and all losses, costs, damages, liability or expenses, including attorney's fees, arising from or out of or by reason of any accident or bodily injury or other occurrences to any person or persons, including the exhibitors, its agents or employees, which arise from or out of or by reason of said exhibitor's occupancy and use of the premises. Exhibitor shall be fully responsible to pay for any and all damages to property owned by the county that result from any act or omission of the exhibitor. Thank you.
