Tips for maintaining long-distance relationships with grandparents

One of my childhood's favorite memories was to spend time with my grandfather, and today I am very grateful for it. Not only do I have to play games with them, but I also hear new bedtime stories every night.

Only when children spend time with their grandmother and grandfather knows that they act as the source of arbitrators, pressure bufferers, supporters, guardians and families. The relationship between grandparents and grandchildren is a special emotional bond, which is one of them. The support our parents receive from their grandparents is sometimes overlooked and sometimes overlooked.

So if you are away from your parents for work or other reasons and your child doesn't know when there is no time to connect with their grandparents. Next is tips on how to help your child maintain a healthy long-distance relationship with their grandfather and grandmother.

Let us go to them one by one.

1] Make your visits frequent
If you live in the same city, make sure you take your children to see their grandmother and grandfather more often. If you live in another city or country, plan to visit them during the summer or long weeks. In addition, you can encourage their grandparents to plan to visit or stay in your place for a long time.

2] Technology makes it easier to stay in touch
It is very easy to keep in touch as technology advances. You can make your child's FaceTime, Skype or video call with their grandmother and grandfather by fixing a specific date and time of the week so that the kids can look forward to it. In addition, children can exchange emails, pictures, voice notes [including bedtime stories and rhymes] or text with their grandmother and grandfather.

3] Surprise them when they least expect them
Grandparents like to care for their grandchildren. Whenever they visit them, they will give them a surprise with a gift. The difference you can make is not to give them under normal circumstances, but to occasionally send gifts to them to surprise them. Top gift choices are to send cookies, their favorite gadgets, photo collages or it's just a letter. Then they will feel more contact and love.

4] More one-on-one communication
When grandchildren or grandparents visit, encourage your child to help her one-on-one with her grandmother in the kitchen while preparing some family recipes, as this will help the conversation flow more freely.
In addition, asking Grandpa to read the story will lead to some meaningful conversations, sometimes even instructive.

5] Friendly relationship
Grandparents are the bridge between parents and children. Parents have a lot of pressure to do everything and let the children learn everything perfectly. The pressure to be the best parent begins with letting their children learn how to talk, walk, leave, etc. As a grandparent, you can teach your grandchildren that there is no perfect burden on parenting. In this way, you can act as their friends and guide them in the right way, for example, in their hobbies, to teach them how to face competition and how to be active.

The last sentence:
Grandmom and Grandad tell their stories in the form of stories. Moreover, they are a warehouse of inspiring stories of beautiful life and should not be rejected by any child. So nostalgic, I feel it now! What is your strongest memory since your grandparents' childhood?
