Dennis Rader computer forensics case
As early as January 1974, the police appeared in a family home and found a terrible scene in which all four members of the same family were brutally killed. These include Joseph and Juliettro and two 11-year-old daughters and 9-year-old sons. This is the beginning of the now infamous serial killer terrorist campaign, his self-styled badge "BTK". After his last confirmed murder, his brutal atrocities lasted for 17 years. The Otero family is a bit out of the normal victims of BTK. BTK is usually a female gender and has a wide range of ages. He is also known as the victim as a project.
BTK killer Dennis Rader will regularly contact and communicate with the police and local media, and he will use newspaper columns to leave clues and secret types of information. This is why he is called BTK "Bind Torture Kill", which is his own badge used to sign with reporters. He even sent a so-called self-portrait to the police, but the police were very skeptical that this similarity was a true reflection. When he was finally arrested, the police expressed doubts there.
The BTK newsletter ceased in 1979, and the police and the media speculated that the murderer had died or that they had been sent to prison, based on previous frequent communications. Then in 2004, he had a local new newspaper exchange with the Wichita Hawks after 25 years of silence. He broke the silence and claimed responsibility for the murder that had not been murdered with him before 1986. The new newsletter began a ruthless case review involving DNA samples collected from many suspects, including all reissued prison releases, which were fruitless.
The reason for the BTK being arrested was that information and symbols were left around the Wichita area. In one of his communications, he asked the police if he had sent a floppy disk and whether they could use it to track him. The police's answer to this question is that it is safe for him to communicate with them in this way. In this answer, BTK murderer Dennis Rader sent a padded envelope to a television station in Wichita with a purple 1.44mb Memorex floppy disk.
When the floppy disk arrives at the police station, the computer data retrieval or forensics department checks the computer disk drive for deleted files and finds a Microsoft Word document that BTK believes has been deleted. Checked the metadata for the Microsoft Word document and found it points to the computer at Christ Lutheran Church, called Dennis, the last editor of the computer documentation. The police checked the website of churce and found Dennis Rader as the chairman of the congressional council in the search.
With this discovery, Dennis Rader was monitored and the police managed to capture the DNA of Dennis Rader's daughter. After checking it, it was a good family game.
BTK Dennis Radel stopped driving near his home on February 25, 2005, ending his terror rule and letting him spend his life in the prison system.
