How to promote your Kickstarter project

In the past two to three years, we have seen that the crowdfunding market led by Kickstarter has grown so fast that many industry insiders have been caught off guard. Kickstarter now processes hundreds of new projects each week, many of which cost more than $1 million. But not all campaigns can generate huge revenue. Of the campaigns that reach the goal, 15 of them are not. Here are four ways to promote your Kickstarter project and hope to meet your funding goals:

#1Social Media
Do your best to use Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. Before launching the Kickstarter project to the public, create a fan page on Facebook, Twitter and Linked In accounts. Produce a buzz before putting on the line and put away what you like. This way, once you get online, you will have a buzz from the beginning. Projects that start well are usually projects that achieve their goals.

#2 Press Release
Get paid news releases from one of the larger public relations companies. This may get the attention of various bloggers, which means you can show it on high-end blogs over the web in a few days.

#3Notify friends and family
Friends and family will be the ones who are most likely to contribute to your project. As I said above, projects that receive a lot of money are projects that are vocal and absolutely successful.

#4Using Social Forum
The social forum itself is different from the social network. Social forums are, for example, LinkedIn groups, Google+ communities, and Facebook groups. These are great ways for the web to let people know about your project. Search for communities based on keywords that describe the projects you are about to launch. Once you find it, introduce yourself to the community and remove the link to your social network profile. This will help you build the network you need after the project starts.

Ultimately, the products you offer on Kickstarter will have the biggest impact on whether or not you get the money, but if you use the right products and follow the four guidelines above, you will soon get crowdfunding success. Having said that, I have seen bad ideas because the project creators are well known or have a very strong social presence on the web.
